Babra started her career with television commercials as the 'Jet Powder Girl' and moved onto working in TV plays. Her first role was in the film Intezaar as a supporting character with Nadeem and Shabnam. Her first Golden Jubilee hit was Shama (1974).

She has won best actress awards in her career for many films. Babra also worked in Pakistan's first sci-fi film - Shaani. She retired at the peak of her career in 1997.
